Administered by CALEA®, Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in seven topic areas: Organization, Direction and Authority, Human Resources, Recruitment and Selection, Training, Operations and Critical Incidents, and Special Operations and Homeland Security, in order to maintain accredited status.
